Join Indian Navy: Indian Navy invites Online application for Unmarried Male candidates for enrollment as sailors (Approximately 400 vacancies) for Metric Recruit (MR), batch commencing in Oct 2019.

Job Specifications

Chef: They would be required to prepare food as per menu (both vegetarian and
non-vegetarian including handling of meat products) and accounting of ration. In addition, they
will also be allotted other duties as per Service requirement.
Steward: They would be required to serve food in the officers‟ messes, as waiters,
housekeeping, accounting of funds, wine and stores, preparation of menu etc. In addition, they
will also be allotted other duties as per Service requirement
Hygienist: They will be required to clean toilets and other areas. In addition, they will also
be allotted other duties as per Service requirement.

Eligibility Conditions

Date of Birth Block: Candidates should be born between 01 Oct 1998 to 30 Sep 2002 (Both dates inclusive).
Educational Qualification: Candidate should have passed Matriculation or Equivalent Examination approved by Central/State Education Boards recognised by MHRD, Govt. of India.
Medical Standards:
- Chest: Minimum range of expansion: 5 cm
- Weight & Chest: Proportionate to height.
- Height: Minimum 157 cm
- Visual Standards:
  - For Chefs/Stewards
    - Without Glasses:
      - Better Eye: 6/36
      - Worse Eye: 6/36
    - With Glasses:
      - Better Eye: 6/9
      - Worse Eye: 6/12
  - For Hygienists
    - Without Glasses:
      - Better Eye: 6/60
      - Worse Eye: 6/60
    - With Glasses:
      - Better Eye: 6/9
      - Worse Eye: 6/24

Examination Fee

For General: Fee of Rs. 205/- is applicable.
For SC/ST: Exempted from payment of fee.

Sequence Of Examination

Computer Based Examination.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT).
Medical Examinations.

Computer-based Examination

50 Objective type Questions (01 mark each).
Two sections: Science & Mathematics and General Knowledge.
Duration: 30 Minutes.
Compulsory to pass in all sections and in aggregate.
Negative Marking: one fourth (0.25) of the marks will be deducted as penalty for every wrong answer.

Physical Fitness Test(PFT)

1.6 Km run within 7 minutes.
20 squat ups (Uthak Baithak)
10 Push-ups

Most Important Dates

14 December 2018: Online Application Begins.
30 December 2018: Last Date to Apply Online.

Pay And Allowance

During the initial training period, a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month will be paid. On completion of training, Candidates will be placed in Level 3 of the Defence Pay Matrix (₹ 21,700- ₹69,100). In addition, they will be paid MSP @ ₹ 5200/- per month plus DA (as applicable).

Scan and Upload the documents.
Select the examination venue and complete the registration.
Admit Cards are scheduled to be downloaded from the website tentatively by end Jan 2019.
