Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who was on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, on Sunday shared a video on Twitter of his cordial meet with the soldiers of the Bihar Regiment, who took on the Chinese troops during the violent clashes in Galwan Valley along the LAC on June 15.

In the video tweeted by the Defence Minister’s office on Sunday, Singh can be seen interacting with the soldiers in Lukung base camp near Pangong Tso in Ladakh. He was also seen shaking hands with them and patting them on the shoulder. Singh on Friday visited forward areas in Ladakh to take stock of the situation amid border tension with China that escalated after the June 15 face-off.

“Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh met the soldiers from Bihar Regiment at Lukung during his visit to forward areas in Ladakh. He had a brief interaction with them,” Defence Minister’s office tweeted, attaching the video.

Rajnath Singh’s strong message to China

On Friday, Singh had sent a strong message to China from Ladakh and said not one inch of India’s land can be taken by any power in the world. He further said that the talks are on to resolve the dispute, however, there’s no guarantee to what extent it can be resolved.

He had also said progress has been made in the ongoing talks with China to resolve the border standoff in Ladakh but he cannot guarantee to what extent it would be resolved.

Addressing a group of Army and ITBP personnel at a high altitude forward post in Lukung in eastern Ladakh, Singh had said, “Talks are underway to resolve the border issue(with China). Whatever progress has been made, the issue should be resolved. But, I cannot give a guarantee to what extent it will be resolved. I want to assure that no power in the world can touch even one inch of India’s land or can occupy it.”

It was the Defence Minister’s first visit to Ladakh after the fierce standoff between Indian and Chinese troops in several locations following a violent clash between the two sides in the Pangong lake area on May 5.
