A day after Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli made a bizarre claim about Lord Rama’s birthplace, priests in Ayodhya called him “insane” and challenged him that his government will collapse in a month’s time. It should be noted that Oli had claimed that India created a fake Ayodhya and Lord Rama was a Nepali.

Hitting out at the Nepalese PM, Ram Temple Trust member, Mahant Dinendra Das said, “Lord Rama was born here. He was born here in Ayodhya near Sarayu river. It is a popular belief that he belongs to Ayodhya. It is true that Sita Ji (Lord Rama’s wife) was from Nepal, but to claim that Lord Rama was Nepali is wrong. I condemn Oli’s statement.”

Another priest and Ram Dal Trust chief Kalki Ram Das Maharaj went on to accuse KP Sharma Oli of working on behalf of Pakistan. He said that Nepal used to be a Hindu Rashtra but now it has fallen into the hands of China and Pakistan.

“There is a line in our religious books, “Jiske Uttar Disha me Saryu pravahit hoti hai, vo Ayodhya hai‘” (The place from where Saryu river flows in the east is Ayodhya) and there is no Saryu river in Nepal, how can he claim that Ram belongs to Nepal. I am challenging him that he will be dethroned in one month,” he added.

Another Ayodhya priest Mahant Paramhansh Acharya attacked Oli saying he is not Nepali and he does not know the history of Nepal. He further accused him of betraying Nepal.

“Lord Rama belongs to the whole universe. He was born here in Ayodhya. Oli is betraying his people and people of Nepal should protest against him otherwise they have to face the ill fate. It does not make a difference whatever he said. Oli is insane,” Acharya added.

Yesterday, KP Sharma Oli had claimed that Lord Rama was not an Indian and blamed India of cultural encroachment by “creating a fake Ayodhya.” His bizarre claims have come in the wake of worsening ties between India and Nepal.
