The Chinese Army has increased the operation of helicopters on their side of the border near Eastern Ladakh two days after the top military commanders of India and China met to resolve the month-long Ladakh standoff but failed to make any breakthrough. Sources told India Today TV that the helicopters of the Chinese Army, that are helping their troops in deploying equipment in the region, have been seen operating close to the borders with India.
The heightened activity along the borders has been seen for the past eight to 10 days and according to the sources, it is possible that the Chinese are trying to strengthen their positions across the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Apart from flying close to the Indian territory, the Chinese Army has also been using the helicopters very effectively to patrol and maintain their supply lines across the LAC.
As fighter aircraft of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) were spotted flying along the LAC in Eastern Ladakh, India continues to keep a close eye on the movement of the planes stationed at their bases in Hotan and Gargunsa.
The tension along the border has soared after China deployed military fighter planes along the border, signaling that the confrontation between the two military powers could become the biggest face-off after the Doklam episode in 2017.
According to India Today TV sources, 10-12 Chinese fighter aircraft have been stationed at the PLA Air Force bases in Hotan and Gargunsa — close to the Eastern Ladakh area.
Recently, Chinese fighter aircraft were flying 30-35 km from the Eastern Ladakh region, nearly 10-kilometer distance away from the Indian areas, as per the international border norms.
