Desperate Pakistan punishing Kashmiris for welcoming surrender of local terror recruits – Indian Defence Research Wing

SOURCE: TIMES NOW

Surrender of local terror recruits in recent past in the Valley has rattled Pakistan to an extent that they have started punishing Kashmiris by training barrel of their guns towards civilians living along Line of Control (LoC).

This act of frustration came to light on November 13, when trigger happy Pakistan Army opened mouths of their guns targeting several villages in Uri, Naugam and Poonch sector, killing three civilians and injuring more than 15 people including women and children.

Pakistan Army was mainly hitting at the villages with the view to affect casualties to civilians and cause maximum loss to their property.

“This was not accidental, but intentional shelling aimed to inflict heavy casualty of civilians on the Indian side. As most of the villages that were bombarded by Pakistani gunners were far away from Indian forward posts,” said one of the senior Army officer on the ground.

To silence Pakistani guns, Indian troops resorted to punitive action, decimating several of ‘notorious’ Pakistani posts from where they had been hitting villages on the Indian side of Kashmir.

Most of these Pakistani posts located in areas like Nekrun, Kel, Sharda, Dudhnial, Shahkot, Jura and Neelam Valley had to face the brunt of Indian retaliation. 11 Pakistani soldiers were killed and several injured in this befitting counteroffensive.

Videos accessed by Times Now clearly shows how Indian gunners were able to demolish many of the Pakistani posts with pinpointed targeted shelling.

Some of these posts were used as launch pads to push in terrorists into J&K. Pakistan Army suffers highest ever casualty during Indian retaliation.

Details of casualty figure of Pak Army

Gurez – 1 killed, 2 injured
Machil – 1 killed 4 injured
Keran – 5 killed, 11 injured
Tangdhar – 3 killed, 4 injured
Pak dishonour his braves; hides their casualty figure

First time during ceasefire counter-offensive by the Indian army, Pakistan has suffered such a heavy casualty. Once again Pakistan has chosen to dishonour their braves by faking the killing of soldiers at LoC as those killed in Khyber or Balochistan in insurgency operations.

‘’They did it in Kargil, they are continuing with same practice again. That time also they refused to accept bodies of their soldiers and today again to avoid embarrassment and resentment at the domestic front, it has been a trend by DG ISPR – propaganda wing of ISI – not to accept the casualties sustained by soldiers due to CFV in public and show them as killed or injured during internal security operations,’’ said security analyst Maj Gen GS Jamwal (retd).

Reality is Pakistan Army suffered heavy casualties in terms of those killed and injured. From intel inputs gathered from the sources in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), it has been established that at least 8 to 10 Pakistan soldiers were killed and 15 to 20 injured.

The breakdown of various sectors is opposite Gurez one killed and two injured, opposite Machil one killed and four injured, opposite Keran sector five killed and eleven injured and opposite Tangdhar three killed and four injured. The confirmation about other areas is yet to be received.

In addition to Pakistan soldiers, there is confirmed information about four terrorists killed and 12 injured which Pakistan’s DG ISPR is depicting as civilians killed. It has been a tradition in Pakistan to portray terrorists killed as civilians.

Why Kashmiri youth shunning path of violence not going down well with Pakistan?

Surrender of these gun-toting youngsters has imparted a sudden momentum to an ongoing government campaign to get the local terrorists to join the mainstream.

As a part of the new policy, the Indian Army is giving youngsters in the valley another chance to live. Encouraging move by security forces to help local terror recruits surrender has been welcomed by the people in Kashmir.

A few days back when an ace footballer turned Lashkar terrorist, Majid Irshad was encouraged to lay down arms, his father expressed deep gratitude to the Army for playing the role of saviour.

Many people even took to social media to express their satisfaction over the turn of events. These developments have perturbed Pakistan and it’s proxies.

Despite Pakistani propaganda machinery working overtime to demonise Indian armed forces, people of Valley are expressing gratitude towards them for giving their sons another chance to live and lead a normal life.

“This in the long run will prove game-changer. All these months Pakistan was busy unleashing fake narrative to portray Indian Army in a bad light. They were trying to tell the world that after the abrogation of art 370 anger against India is brewing. Indian troops have unleashed a reign of terror. But their propaganda balloon has been punctured by local’s response to recent surrenders,” said a senior police officer.

Another reason for escalation along LoC

Pakistan wants to keep of the pot of terrorism boiling in Kashmir valley. Taking advantage of darkness and under the garb of shelling, they want to push in as many terrorists as they can to keep winters hot.

It was with this intention on the intervening night of Nov 7 and 8, a group of terrorists were trying to sneak in from LoC in Machil sector. However, alert Indian soldiers detected their movement and eliminated them.

These terrorists were camping at Neelum Valley launch pad. Only after getting a green signal from the Pak Army, they were trying to come over to Indian side. While thwarting infiltration attempt, three soldiers also lost their life. Another supreme sacrifice by Indian brave hearts to ensure safety and security in strife-torn J&K.

Similar attempts to support infiltration all along LoC by way of ceasefire violations (CFV) and border action team (BAT) attempts were foiled. Desperation to infiltrate terrorists is to provide more hands to terror outfits that have suffered badly during counter-terror operations in the valley.

More than 200 terrorists including top brains have been eliminated by the security forces. Organisations like Hizbul Mujahideen, Lashkar and Jaish are leaderless.

Sensational admission of orchestrating 26/11 has embarrassed Pak army

Recently, under pressure from FATF, Pakistan had released a list of those Pakistani nationals who were part of Pakistan’s orchestration of Mumbai terror attack. Though this list comprised only the fringe elements, hiding the main actors, yet this was proof enough that Pakistan knew it all.

This list was widely published in Indian and international media, showing the fallacies of denial by Pakistan for the last 12 years and led to huge humiliation.

To ward off the humiliation faced by Pakistan due to this and from internal politics humiliating Pakistan Army and its Chief of Army Staff, on 13 November 2020, Pakistan Army chose to undertake widespread unprovoked and indiscriminate fire of all calibres, including artillery and heavy mortars, along LOC in various sectors of J&K.

Time to remove Pakistan’s “Kashmir well Wisher” tag

Moreover, while it calls itself as the well-wisher of Kashmiris, it resorts to cowardly acts of targeting innocent civilians on the Indian side of LoC.

This reflects sheer lack of morality, utter un-professionalism and total disregard to human rights by the Pakistan Army. This is not only a violation of ceasefire arrangements of 2003 but also an exhibition of the fallacy of “Kashmir being a Jugular Vein.”

Pakistan has, ever since its independence behaved in such a dastardly manner. It sent raiders in 1947 who plundered and raped innocent Kashmiri women.
