Pakistan has ramped up terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir and around 250 terrorists are waiting at launch pads across the Line of Control to infiltrate into India.

According to intelligence input, terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba is trying to make its base stronger in Kashmir Valley, Times Now’s Sohil reported. Several Al-Badr and Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists are being given specialised training in PoK’s Muzaffarabad to carry out the possible attacks in Hindu-dominated areas, according to intelligence inputs.

This month, the Indian Army thwarted two attempts made by Pakistan to smuggle weapons into Jammu and Kashmir through Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Last week, the alert troops of the Indian Army deployed at the Tangdhar sector of north Kashmir on Monday foiled Pakistan’s bid to smuggle weapons into J&K and recovered a bag containing five pistols, ten magazines,138 rounds of ammunition from a location close to Line of Control.

On October 11, the Indian troops deployed at the neighbouring Keran Sector of north Kashmir had recovered a cache, including four AK74 rifles from the location.

These reports comes even as FATF is set to review its progress to counter money-laundering and terror financing during the plenary meeting on Wednesday. The virtual plenary of FATF is scheduled to be held from October 21 to 23 through video conferencing.

The global money laundering and terrorist financing watchdog had placed Pakistan on its grey list in June 2018 and asked it to implement a 27-point action plan to curb terror financing and money laundering by the end of 2019 but the deadline was extended later on in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.

The country was listed on the grey list for the second time in February last year after India presented new information about Pakistan-based terror groups.
